BISHOP SABINO ODOKI: APOSTOLIC ADMINISTRATOR FOR ARUA DIOCESE

The Holy Father, Pope Benedict XV1, has accepted the resignation of His Lordship The Right Reverend Frederick Drandua from the office of Bishop of Arua diocese, for health reasons in accordance with Can. 401 § 2, and has appointed His Lordship the Right Reverend Sabino Ocan Odoki, Auxiliary Bishop of Gulu, Apostolic Administrator "sede vacante et ad nutum Sanctae Sedis" of Arua diocese.

Archbishop John Baptist Odama made the announcement in St. Joseph's Cathedral in Gulu on 19th August at 1.00 pm local time. The Rt. Rev. SABINO OCAN ODOKI is the Titular Bishop of Sabrata, and was the Auxiliary Bishop of Gulu at the time of appointment.  The Holy Father appointed him Apostolic Administrator of Arua diocese on August 19, 2009, conferring on him all the faculties in the same Circumscription.
