Below is the letter of the Archbishop announcing the candidates and dates for the upcoming ordinations to the diaconate and the priesthood.

RE: ORDINATION TO DEACONATE AND PRIESTHOOD.
Peace and God’s blessings to you.
I have the joy to announce to you the intention of the Church to ordain nine of our young men who, freely and voluntarily, have expressed their mind to be ordained into the Major Orders of Deaconate and Priesthood for service in the Roman Catholic Church.
The six to be ordained Deacons on Sunday July 5th, 2009 in St. Joseph’s Cathedral Parish-Gulu at 10:00 am. are:

2. Seminarian David Okullu Kalongo Marlon Ocaya and Josephine Adong

The Ordination Banns for those to be ordained Deacons be announced on June14th, 2009, June 21st, 2009 and June 28th, 2009.
The three to be ordained priests are:

In view of the above Priestly Ordinations, the dates and venue for candidates to priesthood are as follows:
The Banns for their ordination will be as follows: 1st __________ June 28th, 2009. 2nd __________ July 5th, 2009. 3rd __________ July 12th, 2009.
The Banns for his ordination will be as follows: 1st __________ June 28th, 2009. 2nd __________ July 5th, 2009. 3rd __________ July 12th, 2009.
I request the Parish Priest/Administrators of the parishes to give me a written report about the result of the Banns during the week before the ordination date.
By the same letter I would encourage collaboration in support of the preparation for the ordinations among the parishes, especially greater support should be given to parishes hosting the ordinations.
We thank the Lord for the gifts of the new shepherds to His Church, a sign of His Love and care for the salvation of humanity. I appeal to you to accompany these young men with your prayers that they may open their mind and hearts to the Grace of God for Service of His Church with love and apostolic zeal. Furthermore, I thank all of you, dear brothers and sisters for your prayers and support to vocations to Priesthood and Religious life.
May Jesus Christ the Good Shepherd reward you abundantly for your love of His Church. I entrust you to the care of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Joseph, Blessed Daui Okelo and Jildo Irwa, St. Daniel Comboni, and All the Saints in Heaven.
